Behold the Dress of the Summer (and its more than adequate dupes)

Post by CM

If you follow fashion accounts on Instagram (hi there!), I will eat my panama hat if you haven’t seen this dress on at least one stylish style maven. The dress is Rixo, the looks it can garner are really bloody versatile and the time is now.

Remember a few summers ago when those pretty Self Portrait lace dresses and their copies were on everyone’s wedding guest dress list (say that quickly three times!)? Well Rixo is the new Self Portrait, its nice frocks being worn by all the cool girls, the dainty girls, the ladylike girls and the don’t-dare-define-me girls. They have a relaxed yet polished aesthetic that’s really appealing, and nods to the 90s nonchalance that is the mood of the season.

But it’s this particular dress that has been elevated to cult status, and maybe here you can see why…

You gotta hand it to them, it can be styled in a whole lot of different ways; here it is out in the wild!

See? It’s everywhere! But while semi-reasonable if you really want to treat yourself, it’s not cheap at about €350 (and last time I looked it was sold out in Brown Thomas). Lucky I’ve found a few from the high street that will help you get the look without shelling out too much of your well-earned cash money.

New Look: €41.46 (As seen on ASOS)
Dupe Zara 29.95

Dupe Miss S 55
Miss Selfridge: €55

If these don’t quite tickle your fancy I’d highly recommend calling in to your local boutique or second hand/vintage shop, you never know what you might find in there. There are also tonnes of skirt and top combos you can mix and match with everywhere you look; happy hunting!
