Yesterday we brought you the top five trends to try for Spring/Summer 2018, as seen on the catwalks, (here!) and today we bring you some ideas on how to wear them in real life, now, even while there’s still a significant nip in the air. SS18’s Top 5 Trends are totally wearable and chances are you’ll already have the pieces right in your wardrobe already.
The Skirt
It might be daunting, but actually the pencil skirt is easy peasy lemon squeazy to pull off, no matter your size or height. I’m short, but I love the look of a mid-calve pencil skirt and dainty flats.
The Print
If you’ve still got that check blazer or plaid print pants from last season you’re in luck, cos they’re still big news for spring. It brings to mind a Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally, the college years sorta vibe, which is right up my alley.
The Colour
Lavender is to be the colour of the moment in the next few months, so get wearing it now! I have a pair of lavender/lilac shoes I got for a wedding two years ago and haven’t worn since, but now I’m going to pair them with everything and anything I can!
The Jewellery
This year you’ll be wearing your earrings over-sized. It’s the handiest way ever of taking an otherwise pretty boring outfit to the next level, and their statement status means you don’t have to bother thinking about any other jewellery.
Micro-Trends
PVC/Plastic
Sequins
Fringing
Once the sun has started to actually warm our skin again, Easter eggs have been scoffed and it’s bright later than 5.30pm we’ll have on update on how you can make these trends summer ready!
