Oh, to be in France with the great and the good of world cinema. The sun is shining, weather is sweet and the style is second to none.
There have been showstopping moments, a case in point being when Amal Clooney upstaged the entire cast and crew (including a barefoot Julia Roberts) with her lemon confection.
Yellow has been a huge trend this year (a few stylists must have been keeping tabs on TMCM’s posts – see our thoughts on the summery hue here!), with Jessica Chastain looking divine in her choice, and Kirsten Dunst looking cute as a button in hers (have a gander at it over on our Facebook page and why not say hello while you’re there!)
Kate Moss made her first appearance on the red carpet in 15 years…
…giving the new batch of models a run for their money, as only she could ever do, banishing even the image of Kendal Jenner in her naked dress that stopped the presses a few days earlier.
Bella Hadid was there too, in what can only be described as a red napkin, but really there’s no doubt that the kooky, cool girls rule Cannes. It is France after all.
Kirsten Dunst’s comeback is in full swing as she takes a place on this year’s jury. She has kicked it out of the ballpark on each appearance she’s made, her blonde bob topping off a myriad of lovely looks.
Chloe Sevingny loves to take a fashion risk, and although she appears to play it rather safe here (comparatively) the accessories, or lack of, are what makes her stand out as a woman who knows what she wants to wear and looks amazing wearing them.
Kristen Stewart is showing such attitude on this trip it’s actually kind of funny. Who wears red eye-shadow, ever? She does! I’ve been loving the grungy looks she’s been indifferently rocking.
Vanessa Paradis’s daughter Lily Rose Depp has been catching the eye of the media lately (and she too has been looking lovely in Cannes), and while Vanessa is letting her take up more of the centre of the stage there is no missing the French beauty either.
Relative newcomer, singer and actress Soko, has been having a ball at the premieres of the two films she’s there representing. She’s been choosing gorgeous Gucci, which suits her style perfectly; expect to see more of her over the year.
It would be easy to include the Blake Livelys and Karlie Klosses of this world on our rundown of favourite looks from Cannes 2016 – and they do look sublime. But it’s that je ne sais quoi that makes the cut in Cannes; and that’s what the kooky, cool girls have.
