Galway Arts Festival 2013 – Street Style

Post by C.M.

The Galway Arts Festival is upon us! The place is buzzing, and with a vibrant Fringe in full swing as well there’s a great deal to see, do, get involved with. Yesterday I made my annual pilgrimage to the City of the Tribes for an afternoon’s art browsing, and happened upon these stylish ladies on my saunter around the city.

Leanne

Leanne, originally from Waterford but now living in Galway impressed me with her imaginative use of colour. The day was heating up, and this seemed like a breath of fresh air amid the burnt torsos and pink flesh on show. Her ensemble comes courtesy of charity shops – see what a good rummage can find you?

Camilla and Ciara

These girls were in a rush so I didn’t have time to ask them anything about their outfits, but I liked their individual styles, different from the usual sunny day norm. I really like Ciara’s kimono-style cover, nice way ofavoiding harsh rays, but light enough not to boil in.

Monica

Monica has lived in Galway for 8 years and is obviously a well travelled lady having picked up her bag in Italy! Her top is Hollister, pants are from Warehouse and her shoes are Office. I just thought it was a really well put together outfit, casual yet chic, with a lovely use of colour.

Martina

Such a cute outfit, and all from Penneys (bar the TKMaxx shoes!). Lovely and summery, perfect for a stroll through the lively streets of Galway (or for a frolic through a meadow!)

Deborah

Another simple yet classy look, Deborah’s dress is from Dunnes, her shoes from New Look and bag is DKNY. It goes to show mixing high street with high-end can really pay off!
