Who Likes Short-Shorts? GTI Film Awards

Post by C.M.

Off I popped to the little smoke to attend the screening and awards for the Galway Technical Institute FETAC Level 5 and 6 Film and TV Production classes of 2013, Upstairs in Kelly’s.

First of all – great venue! Upstairs plays host to many a gig and the setup was perfect for the viewing, with its quirky decor and generous stage space.

A selection of two-minute shorts were shown (one of which was the product of TMCM’s little bro – so proud!), then along came the main event – four ten minute shorts – followed by another few two-minutes, music videos and a final short, an ambitious, well executed and produced venture courtesy of the Level 6s.

A highly enjoyable night,I was delighted when Steve Hession won the coveted Golden Brick award, due in no insignificant part to his truly excellent 10 minute film, Adam. Here he is pictured with his award, alongside his collaborator Colum Burke; actor, director, man-about-town.

Liking the laid-back yet smartened up film student look!

And so to the ladies. Guest on the night was Nicola Hession, who is a girl after my own heart with her awesome print pants, is right on the money this season with her light denim jacket and adds a nice splash of colour with her crop top.
